Synopsis:
Memento mori is a layered time-lapse exploration of the total photographs captured over the course of a lifetime -- over 100,000 in total. These images are blended with each other in permutations and combinations ranging in subjects, objects, percepts, dreams and experiences, to form an encyclopedic index of the possibilities of sight.
Biography:
Dan Browne is a filmmaker, photographer and multimedia artist whose films have screened at venues including the NFB, TIFF Cinematheque, Pleasure Dome, Images Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, WNDX Festival of Moving Image, EXiS Festival and Centre Georges Pompidou.
He is currently completing a PhD in the York/Ryerson Communication and Culture program, and also collaborates with the Loop Collective, a Toronto-based group of artists who promote an interdisciplinary approach to cinema through examining its connections with other artistic forms.
