Circus builds Trust

Through many projects that the Association of Cinema Citi implemented so far, it appears that art is a highly effective tool for education. Learning through artistic experience brings the opportunity to deal with different issues, discovery and understanding of human behavior, thinking about various things and the inner potential of young people.

Contemporary circus, not very familiar in Serbia, is a very strong tool which is used to think and speak out about important social issues.

Since we live in a multiethnic and multicultural environment, the project "Circus Builds Trust" aims to combat prejudices about differences, as well as to prevent and suppress violent extremism through creative and artistic work with the young people of Novi Sad in the field of contemporary performing arts and creative industries.

The "Circus Builds Trust" project is realized by the Cinema City Association in cooperation with LudificoUK voucher codes site and Creative Factory, two organizations from Novi Sad that run a modern circus school and who already have a rich experience in socially engaged work and work with sensitive groups.

The project is implemented thanks to the support of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Serbia, as well as the British Embassies in Belgrade.

Guided by experienced professionals as mentors, young people participating in the project will work on the conceptualization, realization and promotion of a circus performance, at the same time thinking and discussing key tenets of inter-culturalism, diversity, the genesis of extremism which will be the core topic of the performance.

One group will be working on the circus performance itself, while others will be in charged to create the elements necessary for the promo-campaign (visual identity through graphic design workshops, photos through photography workshops, PR announcements and media invitations through journalism workshops, etc.) to finally create a product of a teamwork which will be showcased to their peers in high-schools in Novi Sad.
