The aim of this project is to attract new domestic and foreign film and television ventures, the presence of which in the Danube region would engage local residents, increase the profit and promote culture, history and nature of the location where the film is being shot.
The plan is being put in place to assess all cultural, historic, natural and economic resources in the Serbian Danube region, and establish a database not only on destinations available for shooting, but also on relevant suppliers and institutions. This project will, in cooperation with local authorities, establish jurisdictions over rental locations, and price lists, which would greatly facilitate the execution of film projects, and generate profit for the local economy.
Within this project, Cinema City will hold a conference “Preparing the Serbian Danube for role in movies” in cooperation with the Serbia Film Commission and the Cinema City festival. The conference will play host to numerous representatives of film commissions from the Danube region, domestic and foreign producers, and representatives of local governments and municipalities relevant to the issue of filmmaking in the Serbian Danube region. A number of panel sessions will address the topics of economic and cultural significance of such projects, protection of the ecosystem in case a project is green-lighted, and preparation of the locations on the Danube in terms of accessibility for foreign film production.
