Synopsis:
In midwinter, at the grave of nun Rahela, read roses have blossomed. Sister Rahela Ginzburg was a Catholic nun of Jewish origin. The story happens in Germany in 1965.
When reporters find out the so called "red rose miracle", they start investigating the circumstances and discover that sister Rahela used to be the teacher of 18-year-old Leni Gruiten at the beginning of the war. The father of Leni Gruiten (Romy Schneider) was a very rich building contractor. In articles which appeared in many newspapers, the reporters wrote: "we found out from reliable sources that 'red rose miracle' was made up by a former student of Rahela Gruiten, a Catholic nun of Jewish origin. Today, Leni Gruiten is a middle-aged woman who was a mistress of a Russian captive during the war. After the war, she participated in communist protests, and now she is making up a story about red roses. What's more, she has a Turk lover and has intention to marry him."
