Synopsis:
The film takes us to Iraq in 2004 and follows EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) team. A new sergeant William James is placed in charge of a team of military experts. Stunned by his seemingly reckless treatment of military protocols and basic security measures, soldiers are waiting the end of their tour, soon realizing they’re closer to death with each new military action.
The film won 73 awards and 47 other nominations and Kathryn Bigelow is the first female director to win Best director Academy Award.
