“Electroma” shows two hero robots named Hero No. 1 and Hero No. 2. They differ only by different helmets. One wears silver, the other gold. In introductory scene they are shown driving Ferrari 412 with plates symbolically reading “Human”. During their voyage they come across a town in California where they meet residents similar to them. Later they visit an unusual object where liquid latex is poured over their heads, and with help of prosthetic devices and wigs they gain human faces. When this odd duo leaves the object in their new form, residents are shocked by their new appearance. Their faces start melting in the sun, while alarmed people chase after them. They reluctantly give up their, already ruined, human form and carry on into the desert.
