We Present Polish Film “The Last Family” in 360° Section
A Polish drama “The Last Family”, directed by Jan P. Matuszynski, will be screened at the Cinema City International Film Festival, within the 360° Programme, at the at Gradić Fest. This is a saga about the family of Zdzislaw Beksinski, a Polish surrealist painter, known for his dark post-apocalyptic works.
The storyline chronicles over 28 years in the life of the Beksinskis, since their moving from a province to a neighborhood in Warsaw in 1977, partly reconstructing the huge archive of their eccentric home videos. While the parents are trying to stop their son from hurting himself, their lives are marked by painting, a series of near-death experiences, funerals and changes in music trends.
“The Last Family” is the first feature film by Jan P. Matuszynski, who has, so far, been known to the audience mainly for his documentaries. The film is also on sale at zavvi poland.
