At the 2009 FEST the film won Nebojša Djukelić Award, which is given by the jury of the Association of Belgrade Film Reviewers and Journalists.

The genre of this film can be best described as an unusual fusion of black comedy, horror and contemporary Japanese film. The Life and Death of a Porno Gang is a story about the young director Marko who, having failed to shoot his own début feature film, meets Cane, a porn film director, and starts making films with him, thus expressing his revolt towards the society. After a conflict with Cane, Marko is forced to quit the job and he sets up a porn cabaret featuring socially and politically engaged numbers. He surrounds himself with a group of porn actors: a gay couple Džoni and Maks, a transvestite Ceca, drug addicts Rade and Darinka as well as Dragan, Sofija, Vanja. However, Cane’s brother, a policeman, interrupts the very first show and the reviews bury them so Marko makes a decision to leave Belgrade and take the show on a tour of Serbia. Pretty soon serious incidents occur with the provoked punters that they meet in villages they visit. While travelling they meet a German journalist Franc, who is fascinated with the Balkans. He asks Marko to make films for him containing scenes of authentic sex and violence featuring volunteers and people who no longer care for life…

This black humour road film is in a way a sequel to the author’s previous film MADE IN SERBIA.
