Steamboy

Film „Steamboy“ (Suchîmubôi) is made by one of leading Japanese anima directors, Katsuhiro Ôtomo. Ôtomo became famous as manga artist, director and screenwriter.

He achieved world fame by creating manga "Akira" and adapting it into famous film of the same title in 1988. "Steamboy" is feature anima, long awaited after initial success of "Akira", which confirmed this director's cult status among other authors of the genre.

Leading character is young inventor, Ray Steam. He discovers mysterious metal ball which holds new form of energy, so powerful that it can power an entire nation. Ray uses this "energy ball" to fight evil, save his family and guard London against total destruction.

"Steamboy" is one of the most complex animated films ever created. The film was in production for ten years, with a budget of twenty two million dollars and with over 180.000 sketches.

It was also very successfully dubbed into English, with voices of such superb actors as Oscar winner Anna Paquin, famous Alfred Molina, Patric Stewart and many others.
