Premieres and latest features within National Class

National Class selection

National Class selection brings exclusive premieres, among them Misa Radivojevic’s How I Was Stolen by the Germans, Sinisa Dragin’s If the Seed Doesn’t Die , Andrijana Stojkovic’s The Box and omnibus October.



Andrijana Stojkovic’s directorial debut is recommended to all those who love and remember cult-classics Trainspotting and Goodbye Lenin. Belgrade, 1992, right before economic sanctions were implemented. A time when hundreds of embassies close their doors and their diplomats leave the country. Three young men from Belgrade are also packing. Find out what life is really like for diplomats! See the growing up in a fast forward mode! The film stars Ivan Djordjevic, Marko Janketic and Slobodan Negic. Alongside them there are Srdjan Todorovic, Goran Radakovic, Slavoljub Stankovic and twenty odd international actors. The soundtrack was signed by Milorad Ristic, bass player from “Darkwood Dub”, frontman of “Veliki Prezir” Vladimir Kolaric, drummer Dejan Utvar and guitar player Nikola Bercek, both from “Autopark”. Boris Mladenovic is the producer.



National Class will present three more premieres. Milos Radivojevic’s latest feature How I Was Stolen by the Germans, starring Jelena Djokic, Douglas Henshall and Svetozar Cvetkovic, will have its world premiere on Thursday, June 09. Sinisa Dragin’s award winning film If the Seed Doesn’t Die will screen for the first time in Serbia on Sunday, June 19. Another premiere within this selection is October, original graduate work of seven young directors – Milica Tomovic, Ognjen Isailovic, Ognjen Glavonic, Damir Romanov, Dane Komljen, Senka Domanovic and Ivan Pecikoza.

National Class will also serve as a reminder of the achievements from the previous year. Oleg Novkovic’s multiple winner film, White White World, Dejan Zecevic’s remarkable accomplishment The Enemy, Stevan Filipovic’s The Skinning, Mila Turajlic’s debut feature, Cinema Komunisto, Nikola Lezaic’s Tilva Ros, one of the most awarded films of the past decade, and Mladen Maticevic’s exquisite drama Together. Out of competition, the audience will have a chance to see comedy musical Zduhac Means Adventure, signed by Milorad Milinkovic, author of Obituary for Escobar.
