These days Novi Sad became a meeting point for film crews and guests from all over the world and the region. Iraqi director Mohamed Al-Daradji arrived yesterday to present his newest accomplishment “Son of Babylon”, which is competing within main international programme Exit Point, as well as his other achievements screened within a special selection, Spotlight: Mohamed Al- Daradji.
Cinema City will present its audience with three other national premieres, “The Woman with a Broken Nose” by Srdjan Koljevic, screened on Thursday at 20:30h at Serbian National Theatre, “Motel Nana” and controversial “A Serbian Film” both screened on Friday, second to last day of the Festival. Balkan Box selection will present on Friday Jasmila Zbanic’s “On the Path” which is also this film’s Serbian premiere. After the screening, audience will have a chance to greet the film crew.
Dunavski park open-air remains the most attractive location of the Festival, which attracts over 2000 visitors each night and which presents the best achievements from Animatrix and Burn Planet Rock selections.
Cinema City Festival ends on Saturday, June 12. Prior to the screening of Oscar winning “Hurt Locker”, at the closing ceremony representatives of international juries will present 20 awards for international, national and low-budget films from within three competitive selections.
