"Nothing in our Way" - Film about Making of Regional Hip-Hop Scene in Planet Rock Section

The Most Famous Regional Rappers on Hip-Hop Culture in the film “Nothing in our Way”

The Planet Rock section once again presents the musical testimonies of artists who reshaped the world. Hip-hop devotees will have a chance to revel in Nothing in our Way, a film directed by Nemanja Đerić, which will be screened as part of the Planet Rock program. The film shows the most prominent regional rap artists who, as far back as in the ‘80s, started using their rhymes to put forward their points of view, and thereby redefine reality. Now they finally get together to tell their story.

In the movie Stand in the Way, Gru, General Woo, Bizzo, Baby Dooks, Remi, Shot, Koolade, Reksona, Marčelo, Edo Maajka, Frenkie, Kontra, Ikac, Struka, Shorty and Oneya, Slavin Balen, Phat Phillie, Frx, Soul and Munja, along with music executive Miško Bilbija, describe their first contacts with hip-hop culture. This group of rap artists and friends from Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina gather together to record a collaboration track, to crown the 20 years of the regional hip-hop scene.

Directed by Nemanja Đerić and produced by MTV Adria and Red Bull, aside from the story about the origins of the movement, this film also shadows and captures the process of the making of the eponymous song, by which the rappers from Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrated the 20th anniversary of the domestic rap.

Make sure to check out the excellent film program in Planet Rock section!
