New locations and more premiere screening at the very beginning of the festival!
Following what is surely going to be a fantastic music opening on Saturday, the Cinema City festival will officially kick off on Sunday, June 22, with the premiere of Mina Đukić’s directorial debut
The Disobedient, which will be screened at Arena Cineplex, Hall 5, at 20h. Another premiere is planned for Sunday night, namely Mladen Matičević’s
My Craft. This take on Arsen Dedić, one of the greatest artists from our region, received standing ovations at the BELDOCS festival. If you decide on this film, you can see it at Arena Cineplex, Hall 2, at 20:15h. The audience will also get to choose from other locations, where this year’s film programme will be screened.
The newest location of the festival,
Nestea Open Air, which is set up at the atrium of the Museum of Vojvodina, will open on Sunday, at 21h, with Song of the Forest, one of the best documentaries from this year’s BELDOCS festival. Our main attraction, Amstel Open Air, will screen an exceptional music film –
The Stone Roses: Made of Stone, a journey through the life of one of the most influential and revered bands in British music history. This screening will be followed with
Sex, Drugs & Taxation from 360 selection. The Academy Award-winning film Searching for Sugar Man will screen at 21h, at the cinema hall of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina, where the entire Up to 10,000 Bucks selection will be screened. Arena Cineplex will screen four more films on Sunday;
Vic + Flo Saw a Bear,
Strange Little Cat,
The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq, and
Life Almost Wonderful.
This weekend the party is in Novi Sad, and its name is Cinema City!
