National Class presents “Honeymoons”

Honeymoons” is a multiple winner by our director Goran Paskaljevic and it will be screened within National Class selection, in out of the competition programme. The film premiered at Venice Film Festival in 2009. It received positive reviews in Sao Paulo and Abu Dhabi, and awards starting with Golden Spike and FIPRESCI award at International Film Festival in Valladolid, Prix du Jury at Les Arcs European Film Festival and a Grand Prix at 34th Cleveland International Film Festival. It also won Audience award at Thessaloniki Film Festival.

“Honeymoons“ is the first cinematic co-production between Albania and Serbia. It gives us insight into lives of two couples, one Albanian and one Serbian. Both newlywed couples decide to emigrate to Western Europe intent on finding their happiness there. However, they soon discover that being a Balkan emigrant is not easy and that Europe is not greeting them with open hands.

The film stars Nebojsa Milovanovic, Jelena Trkulja, Jozef Shiroka, Mirela Naska, Lazar Ristovski, Petar Bozovic, Bujar Lako, Yllka Mujo, Danica Ristovski, Mira Banjac, Vlasta Velisavljevic, Ljuma Penov, while the screenplay is signed by Genc Permeti and director Goran Paskaljevic.
