Friday at Cinema City

The sixth day of the Cinema city festival will start at Arena Cineplex, Hall 3, with the repeat screening of Sion Sono’s “Why Don’t You Play in Hell?” at 15h, and Takashi Miike’s “The Mole Song: Undercover Agent Reiji” at 17:30h. At 20h we will screen Ivan Stefanović’s “Love Isn’t Always on Time”, and “Cathedrals of Culture” at 22:30h. This 3D documentary was signed by six brilliant directors, including Wim Wenders and Robert Redford.

At Arena Cineplex, Hall 2, the programme will start at 15:15h, with Nevio Marasović’s “Vis-A-Vis", followed by Yvonne Kerékgyártó’s “Free Entry” at 18h. This adventurous journey into maturity focuses on a wild and still vulnerable relationship between two best friends on their way to the Sziget Festival. The award-winning “Fill the Void” will screen at 20:15h, while the experimental “Karpotrotter” from the Fresh Danube Films competition selection will screen at 22:30h.

At Arena Cineplex, Hall 1, at 21h we will once again screen “LCD Soundsystem: Shut Up and Play the Hits”. If you have missed the chance to see it before, now is the time to enjoy the phenomenal sound and story of this cult band.

At the cinema hall of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina, at 14h you can see the energetic documentary “Death Metal Angola” from the Planet Rock selection. At 16h we will screen “Album 61”, an Israeli documentary about a relationship between a father and his son, the mentor and the genius. At 18:30h we will continue with our excellent choice of low-budget films from Up to 10,000 bucks selection with “These Days”, “More Than Two Hours”, “Sky Lines”, and “Life Is”. The 21h time slot is reserved for the repeat screening of “Off the Beaten Track” from the Planet Rock selection. This is a film story about a music phenomenon that is Buraka Som Sistema. At 22:30h you will be able to once again enjoy the music hits of the legendary Peter Gabriel in “Peter Gabriel: Back to Front”.

At the same location, in the gallery, we will screen another batch of films from the Cinema City Shorts selection. The screenings will start at 18h.

We will wrap up Friday’s events with “Best regional music video award party”, as part of the Danube Festivals Network project, which the Cinema City festival realized with two other festivals, EXIT and Mikser. Starting at 21h at the plateau of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina, don’t miss the fantastic E-PLAY at the plateau of the museum, and also stay for best music videos, which will be projected on the façade of the museum. If you’re in a mood for something different, you can go to the atrium of the museum, where Cinema City Resident DJ will perform just for you. Bring good mood and come hang out with us!
