Yesterday, on Saturday 6th June, in the packed hall "Jovan Djordjević" of Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, the Film and Media Festival Cinema City was officially opened. The programme began with the introductory welcoming speech by the festival's director Miloš Ignjatović, after which were presented selector Dubravka Lakić of Exit Point selection, selector of National Class selection and art director of the festival Ivan Lalić, as well as the members of Exit Point jury - Tuncel Kurtiz, famous Turkish actor and film and theatre director, Martin Blaney, who works for international film festivals in Berlin, Munich and Rotterdam and various other media programmes by European Union, Ivan Fila, established director, screenwriter and producer of mainly documentary and dramatised films, actress Labina Mitevska, Ellis Driessen, director of Holland film festival called Holland Film Meeting and who is active in different fields of international and Holland film industry.
After presenting the jury, Regional Secretary of Culture Milorad Đurić addressed the audience in excellent mood, supporting Film and Media Festival Cinema City and gave the festival's award for special contribution to world cinematography to the special guest of the festival, the famous Mexican screenwriter, director and writer Guillermo Arriaga. The audience greeted Arriaga with sincere signs of approval, and he then officially opened Film and Media Festival Cinema City.
With positive reactions of those who were present to the very first scenes of the film, the projection of the film Technotise: Edit and I by Aleksa Gajić went well. The film, which was applauded to, won critical acclaim of all who were present. Following the projection, the film crew members presented themselves.
Later that evening an excellent party marked the festival opening at the location of ex World Music Stage at Petrovaradin's Fortress, where in good atmosphere, until early morning hours, LTJ Bukem and MC Conrad, Mulinex, Matt-U, DJ Flip and Ahmaad performed.
