First Day of Cinema City Festival

Today, on 14th of June, beginning at 20:15 with the premiere of Vinko Bresan’s film Will not Stop There, Cinema City, international film and new media festival opens. Numerous foreign and domestic actors, directors, producers, and journalists that are going to be guests during the eight days of the festival, are going to participate at the official opening.

The first film from Exit Point competition selection that is to be shown on the same day is a creation by Russian director Larisa Sadilova, called Nichego Licnogo. Sadilova’s drama is to be shown in Serbian National Theatre, beginning at 22:30.

On the first day, visitors have a chance to see both films of popular Grindhouse project of The Best of Horror selection (Death Proof by Quentin Tarantino, beginning with 21:15 and Planet Terror by Robert Rodriguez at 23:00) in the open cinema in Katolicka Porta.

On Dunavski park location, animatrix Achi-wa ssipak directed by Jo Beom-jina, as well as French horror Les Revenents by Robin Campillo are to be shown. First projection is at 21:15, while the other begins at 23:15.

Program in Svetozara Miletica Street today offers music documentary of Planet Rock selection, Joy Division from Great Britain, directed by Grant Gree, with the beginning at 21:15. After that, drama-romance of Latino selection by Mexican director Jonás Cuarón called Ano una is to be shown.

Today, at the Youth Theatre you can see two excellent classics of Pedja's  Film Collection, Chaplin’s The Circus, beginning at 20:00, and at 22:00, the film called Die Blechtrommel by Volker Schlöndorff. At the small hall of the same location, beginning at 19:00, three projections of  Up to 10.000 Bucks selection are to be shown, in the following order: Joe Goes to Serbia (Sonja Blagojević), Possessed (Martin Hampton) and On Phenomena and Existences No. 2 (Ivan Košutić). At 22:00, first film from Respect to Cuba by Jorge Luis Sanchez, called El Benny follows.
