A film debut of director Pablo Fendrik called El Asaltante (The Mugger) is going to be presented in Novi Latino Film Selection. Fendrik participated with his first movie in Berlin Festival in the program of Berlinale Talent Project Market, and with the same movie, he won Best First Film award in festival of Latin-American film in Lima, 2007.

El Asaltante is an exciting thriller that does not fall into the expected conventions of the genre. The movie is an intense and reflexive drama made of skillfully made images of emotional crises and conditions through which a man who decides to do a calculated criminal act goes through. He carries out one robbery after another, methodically and carefully thinking about them, not stopping with shocking the employees of the firms and institutions that are his primary targets.

Before El Asaltante, Fendrik was known as an actor, but also by his work on screenplays for movies Male sangra (2004), Vida en Falcon (2005), Las vidas posibles (2006), and Villa tranquila (2007). In 2008, he successfully directed his other feature film called La sangre brota.
