Fresh Danube Films Section Presents Emotional Drama Eva Nová

Eva Nová, a film from the Fresh Danube Films section selected by Vladan Petković, is a story of a woman who is trying to rebuild the relationship with her son. Once a famous actress, Eva is now a recovered alcoholic. During her rehab, they constantly reassured her that her life had purpose – all she had to do is to bring everything in order. After recovering, though terrified by the challenges ahead, Eva decides to take her life in her own hands and try to correct her past mistakes. They say everyone deserves a second chance, but the question is whether it’s too late for Eve…



Director Marko Škop graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava. He directed the full-length documentaries Other Worlds (2006) and Osadné (2009), both awarded at the festival in Karlovy Vary. He also produced the documentary Blind Loves (2009), which won a prize in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs section at Cannes. Eva Nová is his first feature film.
