Do not miss Cinema Now Live Academy

A special attraction of this year’s Festival is Cinema Now Live Academy, a creative program designed to introduce current film topics, which will be addressed by some of the most significant names in international and domestic cinema.

Andreas Dresen, who is a special guest of the Festival, will talk about the art of film directing from his own personal experience. We will also learn a thing or two of how to make film without money from the experiences of Donoma film crew. The secrets of successful production will be revealed by the renowned Nik Powell, one of world’s leading producers, director of National Film and Television School in London, co-founder of Virgin Records. Maja Miloš, Nikola Ležaić, Miloš Pušić, Nikola Ljuca, Mladen Đorđević and Bane Trifunović will talk about the new Serbian film, while Elma Tataragić and Srđan Koljević will talk of the world of storytelling from the perspective of film and contemporary setting.


Bruno Chatelin, board member of the European Film Academy and International Film Festival Summit, producer and specialist in buzz entertainment strategy and online communication, will introduce us to the secrets from the world of festivals, distribution and alternative financing of films. Miško Nećak will speak of might and magic of film editing, and Petar Protić, on of the selectors of the Festial will talk of signifiacnce and meaning of the Black Wave in Serbian film. A famous artist and composer, Boris Kovač will point out the importance of music in the film-making process, by showing celebrated examples such as Lars von Trier’s Dancer in the Dark and Oleg Novković’s White White World. Jan Cvitkovič, a renowned Slovenian director will speak of creative process through absorbing dimensions, while French director Valérie Massadian will introduce us to the art of camera wielding, and last but not least, Portuguese director João Pedro Rodrigues will speak of Lisbon and films.

Cinema City Festival will last from 16 to 23 June in Novi Sad. During eight days of the Festival 100 films will be screened at the following locations: Pera Dobrinović scene – Serbian National Theatre, Katolička porta – open air cinema, Arena Cineplex and Cultural Centre of Novi Sad. The location at Danube park will transform into a Burn Chill Zone, supported by BURN DJ team. From Monday to Thursday wisit Danube park in the period from 18h to 20h, and enjoy the merry atmosphere of the Burn Chill Zone.
