Djordje Balasevic’s “Like Early Frost” within National Class selection

Balasevic’s melodrama “Like Early Frost” will be screened within National Class selection in out of the competition programme. The film was based on the novel-screenplay named "Like Early Frost (Nikola's Story of Vasa Ladacki)" by famous Serbian music author and poet Djordje Balasevic. His directorial debut is a story about love, based on one of his signature songs "Story of Vasa Ladacki" but this time seen through the eyes of Vasa’s nephew Nikola, a witness to everything that has happened after events depicted in the song. Balasevic is signed not only as a director and screenwriter but also as a composer.

The film stars Rade Serbedzija, Nikola Djuricko, Mustafa Nadarevic, Marko Makivic, Mira Banjac, Zijah Sokolovic, Jovana Balasevic, Pedja Bjelac, Danijel Kovacevic, Ivan Djuric, Danica Jurcova, Radoje Cupic and Aleksa Balasevic. In creating original score, alongside Balasevic was Márta Sebestyén also known for her brilliant performance of "Szerelem, Szerelem" in a multiple winner “English Patient” and Gheorghe Zamfir, renowned Romanian pan flute virtuoso who performed songs in “Once Upon a Time in America”, “Karate Kid” and “Kill Bill: Vol. 1”.
