Cinematic Delight from Iceland “Heartstone” to Open This Year's Cinema City
At the marvelous location of Podgrađe in Petrovaradin fortress, as part of the Gradić Fest, “Heartstone” – a beautiful film from Iceland – will open the anniversary edition of the Cinema City International Film Festival.
This movie of two young men growing up near the volcanos of Iceland and their story as they step into maturity, which proves that even a Heartstone knows how to hammer and beat, has already won numerous admirers around the world. This fantastic cinematic achievement featured in the category 360° will greet the audience at the opening of the festival in a cozy atmosphere of Podgrađe, and guide us through the colorful worlds of the lead protagonists and their inner journeys.
Director Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson recounts a story of Thor and Christian, two teenage boys from a remote fishing village in Iceland. Guðmundsson is known to the audience for his short films, which have been shown at more than 200 film festivals, winning over 50 awards, including Special Mention at the Cannes Film Festival, and the European Film Award nomination.
