Call for Up to 10,000 Bucks successfully closed

The call for the low-budget film selection, Up to 10,000 bucks, was successfully closed on the morning of April 20. Film authors continue to show increasing interest in this film selection, and this year the total of 209 films applied from all over the world. Serbia participates with 63 films.

Films of all types and genres applied: documentaries, full-length films, animations, experimental and short films, etc. All these films were shot with a budget of less than 10,000 dollars. “The call was answered by experienced directors, who already have several award-winning films under their belts, but also newcomers, students, and amateurs. I was particularly pleased to see the applications of the directors who already participated in the Cinema City festival. It is nice to see that they continue to work and create, and are enthusiastic about participating in our programme. Given that they are the core of this programme, this definitely gives credibility to Up to 10,000 bucks selection”, said Dina Vuković, programme coordinator.

The call was open from April 2-19. The films will be selected by Srdan Golubović, whose film won Grand Prix at last year’s festival.

The programme of Up to 10,000 bucks will begin on the second day of the festival, i.e. June 22, and last until June 26. On June 27 we will give the Ibis award for best film from this selection. Last year the Ibis award for best film was won by the young director Dejan Radovanović for “Either Words Nor Quiet”, which secured him a place among the jurors in 2014.
