Attendance in the First day of the Festival

Despite rainy weather, yesterday, on 14th of June, film projections in open-air cinemas were highly successful. The organizers covered the cinemas and umbrellas were provided for most visitors. Fully equipped open-air cinema in Katolicka Porta is the proof of high interest for attractive Grinnhouse project made by Tarantino’s and Rodriguez’s directional management (Death Proof and Planet Terror), which opened The Best of Horror selection program.

Visitors showed a special interest for film called Joy Division, directed by Grant Gree. Seats in the open-air cinema were taken before the projection, and the audience had a chance to enjoy the cult sounds of the band, and exceptional documentary footages of the British director.

With comical situations by legendary Chaplin, numerous admirers of film classics enjoyed The Circus, a film creation from late 1928 in the big hall of the Youth Theatre. Arena cinema led its visitors for a true “cinematographic walk”, from Zivojin Pavlovic’s The Return along contemporary Brazilian cinematography and Kogut’s Mutum, to Iraqi creation Ahlaam from 2005, by Mohamed Al Daradji.

Animatrix Achi-wa ssipak kept the attention of the audience under umbrellas in the open-air cinema in Dunavski Park, while numerous spectators of French horror Les Revenants had better weather conditions.

Vinko Bresan’s “Will not End There”, as well as the first film in Exit Point Selection, Nichego Lichnogo were seen in ceremonial atmosphere and high attendance. High attendance in Jelisavetin Bastion and the mood of Death Match party visitors contributed to the atmosphere of the first festival day.
