USA/Canada, 2007, 84 min.Film and Media Festival Cinema City, within the Planet Rock selection, will show a musical documentary Heavy Metal in Baghdad by the directing couple Alvi and Moretti.
The film, with a slightly exotic topic, has an original way to talk about the general situation in Iraq. In the summer of 2006, the directors Eddy Moretti and Suroosh Alvi go to Iraq to make an interview and to film the only heavy metal band in Iraq – “Acrassicauda“. In the film the directors record how the young in Iraq feel, living in constant state of war, what their hopes are and where their ambitions end. The film talks about friendship, too, about the young band members, who in spite of the situation do not stop fighting to stay together, save their lives and make what they truly love – heavy metal music.
