Synopsis:
Mary lives in a remote village of Afghanistan along with her two daughters, while her only son and young man of her family is serving in military in Kunduz province. One day, she hears on the radio the news of fall of Kunduz province to the hands of the Taliban. Since the authorities have no news of her son, Mary decides to start her own journey to Kunduz to find him.
Director:
Sadam Wahidi was born in 1991 in Kabul. After graduating from the Istequlal High School, he studied agriculture at Kabul University. At the age of 9, Sadam started working at BBC Radio AEP as an actor and announcer on shows for children. He directed his first 36-minute experimental film when he was 14. During school period, he participated in many TV commercials, and after 2010, he played in two feature films and two TV serials (Our Street, 2011-2013, and Shereen, 2016). He worked as an assistant director, project manager and a producer on the TV serial "Our Street", and as an assistant director on the feature film "Ahwal-e-Darya". Sadam Wahidi established an independent film production (Rumi Films Production) in 2014. His films competed at 60 international film festivals and won 12 international awards so far.
