Synopsis:
In remote villages of Gora, on the slopes of the Šar Mountains, live the Gorani, a Muslim ethnic group speaking a Slavic language. The fi lm follows everyday rituals of their men. Through villages, streets, herds of sheep and cows, mosques, and taverns, the fi lm shows their simple lives, but also their natural and cultural heritage. The fi lm shows them working, singing, talking, playing, praying, taking walks, and drinking while the mountains above and around them stand as a constant reminder of the impermanence of life.
Director:
Stefan Malešević was born in 1989 in Belgrade, where he graduated from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Applied Studies with a degree in audiovisual technology. He completed his postgraduate studies in film directing at the Sarajevo Film Academy, within the film factory program, supervised by Béla Tarr. He made over 20 short films, some of which were screened and awarded at festivals around the world. He is the founder of the production company Slovofi lm in Banja Luka, with which he has developed a few feature and documentary projects.
