Darkwood dub at the opening of the Cinema City festival

Expect to be blown away by the film and music programme we’ve prepared for you at the opening of the 8th Cinema City festival on June 29. In addition to one of the most thrilling Serbian bands, Jarboli, Cinema City will also play host to one of Serbia’s most popular underground bands – Darkwood dub.

Formed in 1988 in Belgrade, Darkwood dub took the name of the forest home of the iconic comic book character Zagor, and made it their own. In the first couple of years the band experimented with reggae and dub sounds combined with sonic guitars and associative and emotional lyrics. Darkwood dub have published eight albums so far. Their music is an amalgam of reggae and dub, electronic music, and rock and roll from these parts. Darkwood dub are Dejan Vučetić Vuča (vocals), Vladimir Jerić (guitar), Bojan Drobac Bambi (guitar), Milorad Ristić Miki (bass), and Lav Bratuša (drums).

Here you can find everything you wish to know about the music programme of the festival.
